Monterosso al Mare is the largest and most resort-like of the five towns that make up Cinque Terre. With its beautiful beaches, clear waters, and colorful umbrellas, it is the perfect spot for sunbathing and swimming.

The old town of Monterosso is a charming maze of narrow alleys, lined with colorful houses and small shops selling local crafts and souvenirs. The town is also known for its beautiful lemon trees and fragrant gardens.

One of the main attractions in Monterosso is the Church of San Giovanni Battista, a beautiful medieval church with a black-and-white striped facade. You can also explore the old castle, which offers stunning views of the town and the sea.

Monterosso is also home to a number of excellent restaurants and cafes, serving fresh seafood and traditional Ligurian cuisine.

Compared to the other Cinque Terre towns, Monterosso has a more spacious and open feel, with wider streets and a larger beach. It is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the beach and enjoy a more resort-like atmosphere. However, it is also the most popular and touristy of the five towns, so it can get crowded during peak season.
