Las Vegas · A more useful starting point

What does
Las Vegas cost?

A Vegas budget starts with the room, then adds the charges around it. Separate what you spend from what the hotel holds on your card, and compare the full stay total.

A $55 fee adds $165 over three nights.

The Venetian’s official resort-fee page lists $55 plus tax per suite, per night, payable at check-in. Three nights therefore carry $165 in resort fees before tax. This is a dated policy sample, not a room quote, a universal Vegas fee or confirmation of availability for any travel dates.

Read the Venetian policy. Bellagio directs guests to their reservation terms for the current resort fee; this guide does not invent a Bellagio amount.

Work through a four-day, three-night trip.

The following figures are deliberately chosen planning inputs for two adults sharing one room, in USD. They are not average prices or live offers. Replace every allowance with your own quote and spending choices.

InputCalculationTrip subtotal
Room, illustrative$200 per room/night × 3 nights$600
Resort fee, policy sample$55 per suite/night × 3 nights, before tax$165
Meals, allowance$60 per person/day × 2 adults × 4 days$480
Transport, allowance$30 per party/day × 4 days$120
Shows & attractions, allowance$100 per person for the trip$200
Tips, allowance$100 per party for the trip$100

$1,665 before taxes and extras

That is $832.50 per adult sharing the room. Add actual taxes, flights, parking and any rental car, insurance, fuel or park/tour fees. Alcohol, shopping, gambling, F1 tickets and an incidental card hold are also outside this subtotal.

Use the final hotel total if it already includes resort fees; adding them again would double-count them. The sample is a calculation aid, not a bookable trip.

Spend on the day you want.

Choose one major paid evening before filling every day with tickets. Group nearby activities to avoid repeated cross-city trips. A desert day needs its own return transport and access budget; a car also brings parking, fuel and rental charges.

Keep tips as a visible allowance. Check whether a restaurant, tour or hospitality package already adds a service charge and what that charge covers before deciding on an additional tip. The $100 envelope above is a chosen input, not a tipping rule.

The Monorail publishes a $13.95 one-day eTicket and $15.50 full-fare pass per person, checked November 5. The pass starts at first use; compare the stations and your actual trips before buying one for every day.

Price race week as a separate trip.

Event-date room rates and race tickets can dominate the budget. Check the exact ticket zone, inclusions, hotel cancellation deadline and arrival night before paying. A hotel name in a saved route does not include a race view, admission or hospitality.

Questions before booking.

Is the resort fee per person or per room?

The Venetian sample is $55 plus tax per suite, per night. Confirm the unit in the terms of your own booking. Do not multiply a room charge by the number of travelers, or assume a fee applies only once per stay.

Is a hotel deposit the same as a resort fee?

No. An incidental authorization is money or credit held for possible charges; a mandatory resort fee is an actual charge. Ask the hotel about the hold amount, accepted cards and release timing. Keep enough funds available even when the hold is not part of the final cost.

Does this budget cover the Grand Prix?

No. F1 tickets, hospitality and event-date room rates need separate live quotes. The worked example is an ordinary-trip calculation with invented room and spending inputs, not a race-week offer or a bookable package.
