Grand Circle permits, shuttles & access

Check the land manager for each outing. National park admission, a trail permit, a tribal tour booking and a campground reservation are separate arrangements.

Make the trip fit you

Make the journey work

Zion: shuttle and trail are different permissions

Zion’s shuttle needs no reservation. Angels Landing needs a permit; the bottom-up Narrows and the top-down wilderness route have different rules. River conditions can close the Narrows regardless of permission. [1][3][2]

Arches: use the correct travel year

NPS says advance timed-entry reservations are not required in 2026. Entry fees, queues and temporary congestion restrictions remain; Fiery Furnace and campground reservations are separate. Recheck future-year rules. [5]

The Wave: a dedicated permit day

Coyote Buttes North needs a permit. The BLM describes a strenuous 6.4-mile round trip and navigation demands. Keep a Page-based alternative when you do not hold the permit. [6]

Tribal visits: book with the authority

Antelope Canyon requires a guided tour. Check Monument Valley’s own current loop restrictions and last entry; some areas need a Navajo-led tour. A national park pass does not replace tribal arrangements. [7][8]

Havasupai is outside the daily loop

Arrange the separate tribal reservation and multi-day journey. Do not add Havasu Falls to a South Rim sightseeing day. [13]

Questions before you go

Does a national park pass cover every Grand Circle visit?

No. Trail permits, Antelope Canyon guided bookings and Navajo tribal park arrangements are separate. Check the authority for the outing and travel year you choose.

Are access and bookings guaranteed?

Check the current land-manager notice, any required reservation, and the operator or property for your dates before committing to the next part of the journey.
