Start with the rim
Mather Point and a manageable Rim Trail section give broad views without a deep descent. Use the current shuttle service to connect a walk; do not treat a below-rim hike as a short viewpoint stop. [9][23]
The saved Fyno loops visit the South Rim. A village stay is a different choice from the remote properties near Grand Canyon Junction; choose your overnight around the return from the rim.

South Kaibab and Bright Angel are alternatives, not a pair of full hikes to stack together. NPS advises against a rim-to-river-and-back day hike. The climb out, heat and changing water availability matter more than the downhill start. [9]
Havasupai visits need tribal reservations and a separate multi-day plan. A South Rim overnight does not create access to Havasu Falls. [13]

Choose a sensible turnaround on Bright Angel before descending. The return is uphill, and a full river-and-back outing is not the default day-hike plan.

Both existing website loops visit the South Rim. A village lodge, a Grand Canyon Junction stay and a separate Havasupai reservation trip have different access and overnight arrangements.
Check the current land-manager notice, any required reservation, and the operator or property for your dates before committing to the next part of the journey.
