Driving the Grand Circle

Treat this as a moving road trip with park-specific transport inside it. The two existing website loops use Las Vegas as a gateway, then connect Utah and Arizona overnight areas.

Make the trip fit you

Make the journey work

Gateway time is its own task

The saved routes name LAS and LVS; LVS is Las Vegas, New Mexico and is not the Nevada gateway. Use your actual booked Las Vegas, Nevada airport and keep car pickup, return and check-in outside the park-day budget. [21]

Plan transfers with a map

Springdale–Bryce, Bryce–Torrey via Highway 12, Torrey–Moab and Page–South Rim each need substantial driving time. Use current navigation for your exact overnight, then add stops, parking, food and daylight margins. [11][12]

Highways do not establish backcountry access

Cathedral Valley, Alstrom Point and Moki Dugway need a vehicle-appropriate decision and road check. Confirm rental restrictions before leaving paved routes. [10]

Keep the clocks explicit

Utah, most of Arizona and Navajo Nation time can differ during daylight saving time. Use the operator’s written local check-in time rather than a single time zone for the entire trip. [22]

Questions before you go

Are LAS and LVS the same Las Vegas gateway?

No. LAS serves Las Vegas, Nevada; LVS is Las Vegas, New Mexico. The saved source includes both codes, so use the airport on your actual Nevada booking and allow pickup and return time. [21]

Are access and bookings guaranteed?

Check the current land-manager notice, any required reservation, and the operator or property for your dates before committing to the next part of the journey.
