Bali is my go-to place for a spiritual break and reconnecting with myself. Fascinating jungles, rice field terraces, mystical temples, and stunning beaches make Bali a truly magical place, transporting you far away from your day-to-day life.

Thousand Islands Viewpoint is a stunning scenic viewpoint and a very popular photo spot. It offers panoramic views of the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, as well as the small islands dotting the horizon. The viewpoint is perched on a cliff and can be accessed by a short trek uphill.

The viewpoint is a popular spot for photography because of the famous Rumah Pohon treehouses (you can stay here; check out curated stays section). You can also enjoy a picnic on the grassy area near the viewpoint while taking in the stunning scenery.

The Thousand Islands Viewpoint is a must-visit destination in Nusa Penida, especially for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. It offers a glimpse of the island's natural beauty and is a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Just a boat ride away, this island offers dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and an under-the-radar vibe. Kelingking Beach and Angel's Billabong are just a couple of the natural wonders that make Nusa Penida a must-visit for adventurers.

Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida is a remote exotic island accessible by a ferry or a private boat with your guided tour. There is no wrong option though: if you like stress-free logistics – we recommend a guided tour, and if you like to explore at your own pace – here is what you need to know:

Take a taxi to Sanur Harbor. If you arrive on your scooter or car – there is a parking lot where you can drop it off. Once at the harbor, there are a few vendors, but we recommend buying tickets for Mola-Mola Express which is one of the fastest and safest options and will take you to the island in about 30 minutes. It costs around $10 one way.

Keep in mind that Nusa Penida became quite popular in recent years, so we recommend taking one of the earliest ferries at 8:30 am, and to ensure you have a ticket for that day – it's better to be at the ticket office at 7:30-ish.

Also keep in mind that Nusa Penida is a big island and almost impossible to explore on foot, so you'll need to rent a scooter or a driver to explore the island.

And last but not least – the last ferries back depart at 4:30 pm, so make sure you make it back in time. If you decide on staying overnight at the island – reach out to your hotel and they will help with the logistics around the island.
