Lempuyang Temple, also known as Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang, is a Hindu temple complex located in East Bali. It is situated on the slope of Mount Lempuyang and is one of the six most important temples in Bali. The temple is known for its unique architecture, with a series of seven gates that must be passed through to reach the main temple area. The temple features breathtaking views of Mount Agung that can be seen through the temple's iconic Gates of Heaven. You can take stunning photos with the mountain as a backdrop, especially during sunrise and sunset. However, it's important to note that the temple is still an active place of worship, and you are expected to dress appropriately and behave respectfully while on the premises. To reach the main temple area, you will climb a series of stairs that wind through the forest. Along the way, there are several smaller temples and shrines that can be visited. You can also hire a local guide if you want to learn about the temple's history and significance.
