YOICHI COAST, HOKKAIDO · JAPAN · VISIT GUIDE

Ebisu & Daikoku Sea Stacks

Ebisu & Daikoku Sea Stacks are a pair of offshore rock formations that turn a coastal drive west of Yoichi into a distinctly Shakotan scene. Their asymmetrical silhouettes, clear water, and changing light are the experience; this is a compact scenic stop rather than a developed attraction.

BEFORE YOU GO

Plan your Ebisu & Daikoku Sea Stacks visit

Allow 30min for the visit, then add the journey.

The time above is Fyno’s curated visit allowance. Add the approach, queues, booked sessions and the return.

Choose the actual visit

Use a permitted coastal viewing point on the journey. The rock formations are a scenic stop, not an invitation to enter the sea or private shore access. [5]

Plan the approach

Central Sapporo works by rail, subway and walking. A rural coastal day needs a separate connection or car plan; short map distances do not establish winter road conditions. [5]

MAKE IT YOUR TRIP

Choose your experience

Choose what fits your day

Pair one market or park visit with neighborhood food. Cape Kamui is an exposed coastal outing, and Kiroro is a ski resort near Otaru, not an urban Sapporo attraction. [5]

More from Fyno’s curation

Ebisu & Daikoku Sea Stacks are a pair of offshore rock formations that turn a coastal drive west of Yoichi into a distinctly Shakotan scene. Their asymmetrical silhouettes, clear water, and changing light are the experience; this is a compact scenic stop rather than a developed attraction.

Use the exact designated roadside viewing area and never stop in traffic or scramble onto unstable shoreline rocks. Calm, clear weather produces the strongest color, while rough seas and poor visibility can erase much of the appeal.

Pair the stop with Cape Kamui or Yoichi rather than driving out for it alone.

How long should I allow for Ebisu & Daikoku Sea Stacks?

Fyno’s curated allowance is 30min. It excludes the approach, queues, any required booking and your return journey.

Is this selected in a saved route?

It appears on Day 4 in the 11-day Hokkaido Road Trip default. Other durations can change membership and stop order.
