Garðar BA 64 is now a shipwreck that was originally built in Norway in 1912 as a whaling ship and later used for herring fishing in Iceland. It ran aground in 1981 and has since been left abandoned on the beach. The rusted remains of the ship make for a unique and eerie sight against the stark landscape of the Westfjords. It has become a popular attraction in the last few years.
