Mount Fitz Roy

Laguna de Los Tres, also known as Cerro Fitz Roy, is one of the most iconic hikes in Patagonia. The scenery on this full-day hike is absolutely stunning with turquoise lakes, hanging glaciers, and the magnificent granite spires of the Patagonian Andes.

There are multiple options to get to Laguna de Los Tres. Instead of a regular out-and-back hike from El Chalten, we recommend taking a taxi to Hosteria El Pilar (just ask at your hotel front desk) and starting the trek via Piedras Blancas to Mount Fitz Roy and then hike back down to El Chalten. This way you’ll explore more and avoid crowds for a good part of your day.

Don’t forget to pack a lunch box because there’s no food on this trail but more importantly – you'll have a chance to enjoy your meal with the stunning view of the Laguna de Los Tres lake and massive Mount Fitz Roy as its backdrop.
