Noboribetsu & Lake Toya: places and practical planning

Choose Noboribetsu for an onsen-town and geothermal-walk stay, or Lake Toya for lakeside time and views. They are separate bases, even though Fyno groups them together.

  1. 01 · Lake Toya, Hokkaido

Choose the shore and walking section you intend. This is a different base from Noboribetsu, and lake views do not establish a boat service.

  2. 02 · Noboribetsu, Hokkaido

This is a captive-animal attraction reached by ropeway, not a wild-bear safari. Decide whether it suits your trip and check current access.

  3. 03 · Noboribetsu, Hokkaido

Choose the shows or activities from the current operating program. A themed entertainment park is a different visit from a preserved historic town.

  5. 05 · Oyunuma area, Noboribetsu

The forest footbath approach is distinct from the main Jigokudani viewpoint. Check closures and footing; use a permitted hotel bath if the path is unavailable.

  6. 06 · Dai-ichi Takimotokan, Noboribetsu

Confirm day-use entry, age or bathing rules and the ticket’s inclusions. A day bath does not include an overnight room or dinner.

Before you set off

Leave room for the journey

Connect the right outings

Treat Jigokudani and the Oyunuma footbath as distinct walks with current access checks. Keep to permitted paths around geothermal water; choose a hotel bath when a path is closed.

Plan the approach and return

Check the connection to the hotel rather than only the nearest rail station. A day linking the two areas needs time for the transfer and for any ryokan dinner deadline. [5]

Choose an overnight base

Bourou NOGUCHI, Dai-ichi Takimotokan and Mahoroba are Noboribetsu choices. Nonokaze and WE Hotel Toya are on Lake Toya, with different shore positions.

Questions before you go

How should I fit this into my trip?

Choose your base and the main outing before adding optional stops. Read the linked full route for its actual day order and selected overnights.

Are the map and visit times a transport schedule?

Map pins show locations. Curated visit allowances exclude approach journeys, connections, queues and the return. Check the exact service or operator for your travel date.
