Bajra Sandhi is an iconic monument and a symbol of Balinese people's struggle against colonialism, as well as a representation of their fighting spirit and resilience. The monument's design is inspired by the shape of a "bajra," a ceremonial bell used in Hinduism and Buddhism, which symbolizes the power of wisdom and compassion.

The monument was built in the 1980s and officially inaugurated in 2003. It stands at a height of 45 meters and has 3 levels. The first level houses a library and an exhibition hall that showcases Bali's history and culture, while the second level is used for meetings and conferences. The third level has an observation deck that offers panoramic views of the city of Denpasar and its surroundings.
